St Luke's Church, Deakin
St Luke's Anglican Church is nestled in the tree lined streets of Deakin. The property has extensive gardens and plenty of places for photos.
St Luke's Church turned fifty years old in 2009. It has a long aisle with a red carpet and simple furnishings. It has a beautiful timber organ which is the oldest in Canberra (147 years old) and still sounds wonderful. The building is well lit with large windows that allow in natural light.
The building can accommodate up to 130 people comfortably.
The courtyard is a lovely place for drinks and nibbles afterwards while the bridal party are having photos taken.
Your Special Place
Of course you can also request to have your marriage performed at the place of your choosing within the Parish bounds of Deakin, Yarralumla and Forrest. There are many beautiful locations.
One advantage of being married by our clergy at your special location is that you always have a church building as a back up - just in case the weather does the unthinkable.
Please note that weddings outside the Church building by an Anglican priest require the permission of the Bishop.
